What is the pelvic floor?
The pelvic floor is made up of muscle and other connective tissues. It has three main functions: support the organs, urinary and fecal continence and sexual function. On the images below, the pelvic floor is represented by the red areas of the model.
Just like any muscle or muscle group in the body, the pelvic floor can be weak, tight, or uncoordinated which can lead to many problems relating to its main 3 functions, and more!
