Osteopathy during pregnancy

Rebalance your body and feel your best!

Osteopathy does not replace a medical consultation, but can help with many common pregnancy problems.

Are you pregnant or expecting a child soon?

Do you suffer from some new ailments?

Have you heard that pregnancy is synonymous with pain?

Our osteopaths are happy to be able to offer their services to pregnant women in the Verdun, Ville-Émard, and South-West area of Montreal, to help them alleviate pain or simply prepare them for labour.

How can osteopathy help?

There are many studies showing that osteopathic treatments allow pregnant women to have a reduction in complications during pregnancy and childbirth.

Using gentle manipulation, support / warming technique, the osteopath releases musculoskeletal stiffness so that the body can regain better mobility and reduce tension.
The change in center of gravity, weight gain, physical inactivity, and fluctuations in the hormonal system are reasons that can lead pregnant women to feel these discomforts.
It is sometimes difficult for pregnant women, especially in the last trimester, to hold certain positions for very long. It is essential that the osteopath also adapts to the constraints of the patient so that she can relax as much as possible.

WHEN SHOULD I CONSULT?

When should I consult?
When the first ailments appear (from day 1 to the day before delivery, there are no contraindications to consulting your osteopath).

How many sessions are needed?
It is difficult to answer this question because each person is different. But, in most cases, 1 to 3 sessions are enough.

Are the sessions painful?
No, the osteopath adapts and finds solutions so that the techniques and positions are as comfortable as possible.

When will I feel the benefits of my session?
Relief or improvement is visible in most cases, between 24 to 48 hours after the session.
